Clinical evidence as a driver for innovation

Bio Vitos Pharma builds the iron therapies of the future on a solid foundation of scientific validation. Our studies are designed to prove that ferrous succinate is not only gentle, but a medical necessity for millions of people.

The scientific process

We measure what really counts

Traditional iron tests often focus solely on hemoglobin values, missing millions of individuals with “hidden” iron deficiency. Bio Vitos Pharma’s studies use ferritin and transferrin saturation (TSAT) as primary markers to ensure that we address the body’s actual iron stores and their impact on both physical and mental function.

Pilot results in heart failure

SUCCIFER®

Fokus

Iron deficiency in patients with chronic heart failure.

Results from the pilot study

Conducted at Skellefteå Hospital under the direction of Chief Physician Kurt Boman.

Important findings

Ferrous succinate showed a near doubling of ferritin levels and significantly increased iron saturation without any side effects.

Importance

These results lay the foundation for SUCCIFER® as the first oral alternative to intravenous iron injections, which could make today’s injection treatments obsolete.

Iron and mental health

FE-MININ™ (FERITUP study)

Focus

Iron deficiency in female athletes and women of childbearing age.

Study design

80 female athletes in a controlled study led by Professor Fredrik Nyström.

Scientific goal

To confirm the connection between optimal ferritin levels and improved mental health, cognitive ability and recovery.

Why it's important

Iron deficiency can triple the risk of depressive symptoms. By raising ferritin to optimal levels ($50-100~\mu g/L$) we aim to revolutionize how women’s health is treated.

Vitality and performance

MAXFERMAN™ (FERMANUP study)

Focus

Iron deficiency in men aged 30–50 years.

Study design

80 men who experience sudden physical or mental decline, so-called “hard-down periods”.

Scientific goal

To prove that ferrous succinate (Eqtofer®) can significantly reduce the duration and severity of fatigue periods and increase stress resilience.

Why it's important

Why it matters: Men with iron deficiency are often misinterpreted as stressed or burned out. MAXFERMAN™ aims to establish iron correction as a first-line treatment to restore male vitality.
